You've run out of ideas. No matter how hard you try, your mind is like the Midwestern ground during dry season.
Not to worry. Even the best authors have moments, or even a span of time, when they search in vain for the next idea or the next sentence. They get through it, though, and so can you.
All you have to do is write one true sentence. Write the truest sentence you know and go from there.
Ernest Hemingway
Papa Hemingway had a time of concern while in Paris. He wondered when the next creative thought would come. While looking out his window over the city streets, his muse or mind or whatever that reassurance from within may be, told him not to worry...just write "one true sentence" and the rest would come.
Next time that story ideas seems to have dried up, give Hemingway's tip a try. Everyone knows at least one true sentence that they can write. Just keep writing from that point.
To turn the true sentence into fiction, ask the "what if" question and set your imagination free. Before you know it, you're back on the writing path.
